Let's Talk Scents: Fragrance Oils in Personal Care

Let’s talk scents.

We’ve long held the belief that besides perfume and cologne, most of your skincare and hair care products do NOT need to be heavily scented. Essential oil blends, properly diluted, can carry a nice experience when using the products, but it’s generally not a necessary component. Some essential oils do possess additional benefits, so that’s an added bonus.

But fragrance oils? No one needs them.

Fragrance oils are a sneaky little devil that you can still find in most “natural” skincare and hair care products, even though they often contain artificial components. There’s no official regulatory definition for “natural”, and to top things off, that “fragrance oil” innocently listed in ingredients can typically contain chemical components like petrochemicals, solvents, stabilizers, preservatives, and dyes that companies are not required to list in the ingredients.

More often than not, fragrance oils contain neurotoxins and carcinogens. Neurotoxins can affect the brain and nervous system. Now why would you need all of that in a face moisturizer? In a hair oil?

We’re here as proof they’re not necessary when it comes to taking care of your hair and skin. Ditch the heavily fragranced beard oils and soaps, etc.

Add a Scent To Your Taste

Or don't. Your choice. If you want a scent for your hair or beard oil, we provide essential oil blends in proper amounts that you can dilute to your liking. They’re vetted to be skin and hair safe.

If you want to add a scent, you can select one with some of our products, including our Hair Oil and Beard Oil.

All of our scent blends are simple essential oil blends with no proprietary recipes: we tell you exactly what's in it. No surprise or proprietary ingredients or blends.

We provide our scent blends in separate vials, giving you the ability to make the scent as strong as you like.

But if you want unscented, that’s okay, too. We’ve got you covered.
